This city is unusual for the prairies — brick dominates where other prairie cities built in wood, thanks to the I-XL works at Redcliff and an Edwardian brick downtown. That means a lot of masonry here is old, soft-fired and genuinely worth protecting.

Concrete and brick are wet blasted

Masonry is done wet. Water in the stream knocks the dust down, keeps the media cutting cool and even, and gives the control that soft brick and decorative concrete need. It is the difference between opening a surface up and chewing it.

Surface profile is the deliverable

Most concrete coating failures are adhesion failures. A sealed, polished or contaminated slab gives a coating nothing to key into. Blasting opens the surface to a consistent profile so what goes on next stays on.
