What to have ready before we arrive

Almost every job we quote could be done faster if a few things were sorted before we got there. Here is the list.

Access

• Somewhere to park the rig within hose reach of the work.
• A clear path — gates open, vehicles moved, nothing to shuffle on arrival.
• On yards, somewhere we can stage spent media before removal.

The item itself

• Degreased. Oil and grease get driven into the profile and cause coating failure. This is the single most useful thing you can do.
• Disassembled as far as is practical. Everything removed is something we are not masking around.
• Drained and emptied of product.
• Repairs done first — welding and fabrication before preparation, not after.

Around the work

• Move anything you would not want media on.
• Tell us about intakes, filters, gardens, livestock, or anything sensitive nearby.

The decisions

Know what is going on afterwards and who is doing it. Bare steel does not wait, and the coating schedule drives ours.

The list is the same whether we are coming to a shop in Redcliff, an acreage near Dunmore, or a cabin at Elkwater — but the further out the job, the more a wasted trip costs both of us.
